Totally Venice is an independent, growing directory of everything to do with visiting Venice — travel logistics, sestieri guides, culture, food and the news that actually changes how you plan a trip.

Why "totally indexed," not "a blog"

Most Venice content online is either a listicle chasing this month's search trends, or a wall of forum threads with no clear structure. We wanted something closer to a card catalogue: every page filed under a clear department, every department growing in the open, so you can actually find the specific thing you need instead of scrolling past everything you don't.

How we work

Every page on this site is written to be genuinely useful first — accurate practical details, honest trade-offs, and a clear sense of what something actually costs or involves — rather than optimised purely to rank in search results. We'd rather have 40 pages we're confident in than 400 padded ones.

Starting small, on purpose

This site launched with its first wave of pages across nine departments, and we're adding new pages at least weekly — usually two or three times a week — with the explicit goal of building out a genuinely comprehensive index over time: every sestiere, every bacaro worth knowing, every museum, festival and practical question a visitor actually has.

Corrections and updates

Venice's practical details — fees, ticket prices, transport rules — change. If you spot something out of date, the contact page is the fastest way to flag it.
